Highly successful hedge fund is seeking an Accountant with experience in public accounting with corporate accounting experience to assist with accounting analysis and management reporting of their Japan and Hong Kong entities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in financial statement preparation of Japanese and Hong Kong entities including, coordinating with local contacts and helping to guide the local audit and reporting process.
- Assist in reconciling the local monthly books and records to the internal books and records by working directly with the local administrator.
- Prepare multi-currency month-end closing, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Interact with Operations Dept.
- Monthly Account analyses and translation of local documents for review.
- Management reporting
- Assist in the coordination of annual audit reports and local filing (Japan and Hong Kong).
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting with CPA or CPA pending
- Read, write, and speak fluent Japanese and English
- 3-4 years of relevant work experience
- Preference for public accounting background with hedge fund experience and a knowledge of IFRS and Japanese GAAP
- Strong analytical skills and judgment
- Proficiency with Excel, specifically in using filtering, sorting, pivot tables, vlookups and other advanced functions
- Strong technical proficiency with web applications, MS Office
- Strong interpersonal and client service skills
